Annual Report Design

This project involved designing a functional, engaging, and memorable annual report publication for the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria. The A4-sized report explores themes related to the environment, horticulture, science, and education, aiming to reflect the Gardens' mission and values.

The publication is designed to be bold, professional, and fresh-looking, with inspiring typography, image-making, and layouts that make it easy to navigate between text elements, images, and other visual content. The design is purposefully crafted to suit its form and content, with a high level of attention to detail evident in every aspect of typography, layout, and overall presentation.

I created original imagery for the publication using watercolour and mark-making techniques, experimenting with various brush strokes, washes, and blending methods to capture botanical elements in an abstract style that aligns with the publication’s aesthetic. My goal was to achieve a cohesive and engaging visual narrative that complements the content while showcasing the beauty and diversity of botanical subjects. The result is a well-crafted report that effectively communicates its message and leaves a lasting impression on its readers.
